Wednesday - We travel via an extended lunch stop in the cathedral city of Exeter. On then to the hotel in South Devon with time to relax before evening dinner.
Thursday - We commence our day with a visit to the exciting city of Plymouth which offers a range of attractions for you to enjoy. A well designed modern shopping centre, spectacular Hoe and historic Barbican area are just some of the interesting sights to be found. At lunchtime we continue over the Tamar Suspension Bridge to Trewithen Gardens & Nurseries which is one of the most elegant 18th century houses in Cornwall. Set in a glorious landscaped parkland of ancient trees, vistas and avenues, the house is a fine example of the architecture of the period, but it is for its wonderful garden that Trewithen is famed. We return to the hotel to rest & enjoy evening dinner.
Friday - This morning we travel via St Austell to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, amazingly discovered in 1991 under a blanket of brambles after 70 years of neglect. A lot of the original plants have been rescued. We continue afterwards to the delightful village of Mevagissey for time at leisure before returning to our hotel for a relaxing evening and dinner.
Saturday - Today an exciting excursion to the world famous Eden Project. This unique regeneration project has transformed a worked out scar on the landscape into a global garden, featuring two enormous glass "biomes". The Eden Project is always changing, so even if you’ve been before, you’ll see something different next time. Plenty of time here before returning to our hotel for an enjoyable Saturday evening including dinner.
Sunday - Farewell to our host as the homeward journey commences via the Dartmoor National Park. We make an early photographic stop at scenic Two Bridges and a coffee break at Widecombe in the Moor. A late lunchbreak is taken at Salisbury to conclude a tour for gardeners delight.
