Wednesday - This morning we travel to Hereford for an extended lunch break where you can meander down attractive alleyways and around the ancient courtyards. We continue to Mid Wales and our base at Llandrindod Wells in time to explore and take evening dinner.
Thursday - After breakfast we set off on an excursion to Welshpool to enjoy the bustling Market Town which is surrounded by the rolling hills of Montgomeryshire and the glorious unspoilt countryside in Mid Wales. Later we visit Powis Castle and Gardens. This medieval castle, built by Welsh princes, rises dramatically from its celebrated gardens and houses one of the finest collections of paintings and furniture in Wales. Evening dinner concludes an interesting day.
Friday - An apetising breakfast is followed by a tour featuring the beautiful mountain scenery of the Brecon Beacons. We stop in the market towns of Brecon and Abergavenny then continue to Hay-on-Wye, famous for its books and speciality produce shops. A relaxing evening with dinner follows.
Saturday - A mid morning start offers an excursion through the Cambrian Mountains with a scenic drive around the Elan Dams. We continue to Devil’s Bridge and board the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway for the hour long journey to Aberystwyth. Some free time here in this seaside resort before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Sunday - A relaxed Sunday morning then a lunch time departure for home to include a visit to Tintern Abbey before completing a memorable taste of Wales.
