Guernsey, Sark & Herm

20th - 24th May 2009

Wednesday - An early start and a journey to Poole to join the Condor Ferries service to Guernsey. Guests will be met and greeted on arrival on Guernsey and a local coach which will be used for the duration of the tour will transfer guests to the hotel. Evening dinner will be served. Entertainment is provided at various evenings during our stay.

Thursday - A free morning to enjoy the peace and scenic surroundings of our hotel. Then an afternoon excursion to the beautiful Herm Island. For over half a century the Heyworth family have been the guardians of this private island paradise. Take an easy stroll to Shell Beach and walk along the island’s flower fringed paths. We return to the hotel to relax and maybe enjoy the pool, then evening dinner.

Friday - A hearty breakfast is followed by a full day excursion to the sleepy Isle of Sark, 50 minutes by boat from Guernsey. Transfers by ‘tractor-train’ to Sark’s commercial centre are included, followed by a relaxing 2 hour carriage ride around the island. Time at leisure before the return boat back to St Peter Port then to the hotel in time for evening dinner.

Saturday - A completely free day to enjoy at your leisure. Local buses are available for your own excursion to attractions of your choice or simply enjoy the tranquillity and relax at our hotel before evening dinner.

Sunday - After breakfast its time to bid farewell to our hosts on Guernsey as we join the Condor Ferries crossing back to Poole and continue the homeward journey with fond memories of a grand location.

• The Hotel:

An ideal base is the Peninsula Hotel which is the most recently built of all Guernsey’s hotels and is ideally situated on a sandy beach on the north-west coast of the Island. The name Peninsula stems from the location of the Hotel on a small peninsula with a wonderful view over Grand Havre Bay from the front of the hotel and one of Guernsey’s most sheltered beaches at the end of 5 acres of gardens. The bedrooms are all equipped with satellite television, hair dryer, direct-dial telephone and tea and coffee making facilities.
