A DAY IN THE COTSWOLDS
Sunday 09th October 2022
You’ll find a mixture of larger towns and smaller villages. Some are well-known, and others are just around the corner waiting to surprise you. Our circular tour includes lots of interesting places in this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There’s a coffee stop in popular Burford with time out at Moreton-in-Marsh which is one of the principal market towns in the northern Cotswolds and which is situated on the Fosse Way.
Our lunch stop is at Bourton-on-the-Water: Often referred to as “The Venice of the Cotswolds” this town is unique and cosmopolitan. It’s a great place to enjoy the River Windrush and the attractions, which include the Model Village, the Model Railway Exhibition, the Dragonfly Maze, the Motor Museum and Birdland. Yet another destination is the charming, typically Cotswold, village of Bibury. It’s easy to see why William Morris called Bibury ‘The most beautiful village in England’ – wonderful stone buildings strung out along the banks of the River Coln.
