Arundel Castle is very proud of its glorious gardens and the amazing Tulip Festival which attracts visitors from all over the world. In 2020 the garden team planted a record 72,000 spring bulbs throughout its 40 acres of stunning grounds. The selection includes 50 different types of tulips such as ‘Lilac Time’ and ‘Purple Prince’ with 24 brand new varieties for 2021. The walled area will showcase 30,000 tulips in vibrant colours – the biggest display the Castle has ever presented. Founded in 1380 by the 4th Earl of Arundel, the chapel has had a varied history, including damage during the Civil War in 1643 -4. After a period of neglect, it was restored during the 19th century. The chapel sits within the grounds and is included in your admission ticket. Leave time to explore the shops, galleries and streets of the historic town which are only 500m from the castle’s gates and to enjoy refreshments of your choice before departure.
