After successfully making a splash in recent years, Waterside Festival, Aylesbury’s much-loved canal festival, will be back for2020! With so many of the favourites from last year’s event returning, including; the beautiful floating market, outstanding performances from local musicians, choirs and dance groups and the canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding sessions, there’s a full day of summer-fun awaiting festival-goers. Explore a varied, vibrant and immensely talented array of traders at the Floating Market, brought to you by the Roving Canal Traders Association. The 2020 Floating Market is set to be bigger and better than before, as we welcome more beautiful narrow boats and fantastic traders to decoratively line the canal. Past traders included Northern Lights | Designs by Annie Edwards | Bags by Jane | Shine on the Water Nancy Moo’s Willy Nilly | Little Pen’s Trading Company | Sweet Barge Pot Luck | Lowry Leatherworks. The fantastic traders will be selling everything from wooden jewellery, silver jewellery, spoons, buttons, leather journals, purses, photographic cards, semi-precious tumble stones and geodes, handmade crochet hats, herbs & spices, paintings, prints and cards, leather goods, preserves, dog biscuits, handmade fairy gifts, canal ware, knitted toys, art & pottery, handmade bags and fair trade clothing! Food Court – Who’s hungry? We’re excited to be welcoming OMG! Streetfood to this year’s Waterside Festival, bringing a diverse mix of mouth-watering food and drink stalls to the event. There’ll be something to tempt everybody’s taste buds at the festival’s delicious food court, and with the help of OMG! Streetfood we’re looking to deliver a range of tasty treats that are, local, high quality and green. Fantastic live music, theatre and dance. Adding some theatricality to the Waterside Festival is the outstanding Ubiquitous Theatre. Last year the amazing vocals and performances from the diverse acts brought the canal side to a standstill and this year is set to surpass expectations! There’s something for everyone at Waterside Festival, 2019 acts featured Bhangra and Indian dance and African drumming to Morris Dancing and everything in between! There were performances from Vivo D’Arte Theatre School, Aylesbury Opera Company, Potted Panto, Aylesbury Rocks, and Buckinghamshire’s WI. Many diverse acts will be taking to the stage to provide even more entertainment to what promises to be a wonderful day.
