A great chance to sit back and relax as we visit the Surrey and Sussex countryside letting nostalgia take over. We arrive at The Bluebell Railway – a heritage railway, running steam-hauled trains from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead in Sussex. It was one of the first preserved heritage lines in the country, resulting in one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives and carriages – many of which were preserved straight out of service from British Railways. Recreating trains from the 1880’s through to the 1960’s, the Bluebell Railway is popular with film and television productions and the Horsted Keynes station has been seen regularly on television and in films, including Downton Abbey, Muppets Most Wanted and Churchill’s Secret. Our return journey from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead is preceded with a 2 course Sunday carvery in The Bluebell Restaurant at Sheffield Park station. Choose from a selection of delicious locally sourced meats with all the trimmings and enjoy a yummy dessert before our railtour.
