THE WYE VALLEY FEATURING A SYMONDS YAT CRUISE & PLOUGHMAN’S LUNCH
Sunday 23rd August 2020
Our circular tour takes over the Welsh border and through the Wye Valley. We feature a Ploughman’s lunch and a 45-minute cruise. Sit back, relax and soak up the surrounding sights whilst the local and experienced captain navigates you through some of the most wonderful scenery in Britain. The comprehensive narrative will inform and guide you into getting the very best from your cruise. Leaping salmon, peregrine falcons and mink are all regularly sighted, although the local otters are a little more elusive! You’ll overlook the rapids where hillside streams babble into the river between mature woodlands of oak, ash, beech and cherry trees which are all set against the backdrop of views that extend over three counties. You will witness a hand crossing ferry taking passengers from either side of the River Wye as well as the rapids. Our return journey passes through the scenic and picturesque Wye Valley with a brief stop at Tintern Abbey. A national icon, still standing in roofless splendour on the banks of the River Wye nearly 500 years since its tragic fall from grace.
